Rules for using Tales
Effective 29 July 2026
These Terms form a contract between you and Aleksey Shlykov, Entrepreneur individuel (“Tales”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account or using Tales, you accept these Terms. Consumers retain all rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
1. The service
Tales is an AI-assisted platform for creating and sharing interactive language-learning stories. Features, genres, limits and supported languages may evolve. Generated material may contain errors, repetition, unsuitable language or unexpected content and must be reviewed by the teacher before being assigned to a learner.
2. Accounts and learners
Account holders must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information. Keep credentials confidential and notify us of unauthorised access. Learners, including minors, may open a shared story without an account. Teachers and other link senders are responsible for deciding whether a story is age- and level-appropriate and for obtaining any permissions required by their institution or applicable law.
3. Acceptable use
You must not use Tales to create or distribute unlawful content; sexual content involving minors; harassment, threats or hate; instructions facilitating serious wrongdoing; malware; deception; privacy violations; or material that infringes third-party rights. Do not probe, scrape, overload, reverse engineer, bypass limits, resell access, share an account between unrelated users, or automate use without written permission.
4. Your content and public licence
You keep any rights you hold in prompts and original material you submit. You confirm that you have the necessary rights and that submission is lawful. To operate, improve, display and promote Tales, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to host, reproduce, adapt, translate, generate from, publish and distribute submitted material and resulting stories for the duration of applicable intellectual-property rights. Stories are designed to be public and shareable and may appear in the Tales library by default. Do not submit confidential information or personal data about learners. You may request removal from the public library by contacting us; copies already shared, cached or lawfully retained may remain.
5. Generated output
AI output is probabilistic and may resemble material generated for others. To the extent permitted by law, we assign to you any rights we may hold in your generated output, subject to our platform licence above and third-party rights. We do not guarantee that output is unique, accurate, non-infringing, pedagogically suitable or eligible for copyright protection.
6. Availability and changes
We may maintain, modify, suspend or discontinue features for security, legal or operational reasons. We do not guarantee uninterrupted generation, permanent availability of a particular feature or compatibility with every device. We will give reasonable notice of material adverse changes to paid services where practicable.
7. Suspension and termination
We may restrict or terminate access for material breach, fraud, abuse, security risk, non-payment or legal necessity. Where appropriate, we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy. You may stop using Tales at any time. Subscription cancellation and refunds are governed by the Refunds & Cancellation Policy.
8. Liability
Nothing excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections. Subject to that rule, Tales is not a substitute for professional teaching judgment and we are not liable for decisions made solely from generated content, indirect loss, lost profit, lost opportunity or loss caused by misuse. For professional users only, our aggregate liability arising from Tales is limited to the amount paid by that user during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Law and disputes
French law governs these Terms. Consumers retain any mandatory protection and forum rights available in their country of residence. Contact buildtounderstand@gmail.com first so we can try to resolve a dispute. Consumer mediation information is stated in the Legal Notice.
